LOCKPORT – ‘Lockport Main Street,’ a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting Lockport, attracting new businesses to downtown Lockport, and providing support to existing businesses, announced today that Catholic Health will be the title sponsor of the 2021-2022 Lockport Community Farmers Market.
“We are thrilled to have Catholic Health on board as the title sponsor of our upcoming summer season as well as the 2021-2022 winter market,” said Jessica Dittly, Program Director of Lockport Main Street. “The Lockport Community Farmers Market has grown so much since its inception in 2010, and has become a real pillar of wellness, in part by bringing access to healthy, locally grown food products to the Lockport community. Catholic Health’s mission fits in perfectly with our vision for expanding the market’s positive impact on the health and wellness of our community. Our missions are so closely aligned, we believe the community we serve will be nourished deeply by this partnership.”
“With the development of our new Lockport Memorial Campus, Catholic Health and Mount St. Mary’s Hospital are committed to preserving high quality, local healthcare for the residents of Eastern Niagara County and supporting a healthy community,” said CJ Urlaub, Catholic Health Senior Vice President – Niagara County Strategy, and President of Mount St. Mary’s Hospital. ”Our sponsorship of the Lockport Community Farmers Market with the plentiful supply of healthy, delicious fruits and vegetables is an extension of that commitment, and we are excited about this and other opportunities to work with local partners to improve the health of the community.”
“We have so many ideas on how to grow the Lockport Community Farmers Market’s impact on the health and wellness of the community,” said Grace Platt, Market Manager for the Lockport Community Farmers Market. “Our partnership with Catholic Health gives us access to the expertise and organizational capacity to implement some of those ideas. I cannot wait to see where this partnership takes us and how it will positively impact the community.”
The Lockport Community Farmers Market presented by Catholic Health takes place every Saturday from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm beginning June 5th through October 23rd. Catholic Health, in connection with Eastern Niagara Hospital, will be at several market dates with health and wellness initiatives that are free to all community members.
