Lockport Man Arrested for Wednesday Night Vehicle Theft

NIAGARA COUNTY РSheriff Michael Filicetti announces the arrest of John C. Shaw, 49 years of age, from the City of Lockport after an investigation of a stolen vehicle.

Shaw is accused of stealing a vehicle from a Town of Lockport resident on May 26, 2021. On this date, Shaw was stopped by Deputy Alan Gansworth and Captain Bruce Elliott of the Criminal Investigation Bureau after fleeing the scene of a suspected burglary in the Town of Lewiston. Shaw was driving the stolen vehicle.

Shaw was charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th degree(E felony) and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle 3rd(A misdemeanor). He was also charged by Lewiston Police on domestic violence charges related to the burglary. He is being held at the Niagara County Jail awaiting centralized arraignment.
