NCSO Reports Multi-Dwelling Complex Fire in Barker, Red Cross Assisting Displaced Families

BARKER – On May 15th, 2021 The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received multiple
911 calls reporting smoke and fire coming from the top floor from a multi dwelling complex. All parties were
safely evacuated. One person was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.

The fire was subsequently extinguished by members of the Barker VFD, assisted by Hartland, Lyndonville, Olcott, Wrights Corners, and Miller Hose Fire Departments. An investigation into the cause of the fire by the Niagara County Origin and Cause Team is underway. All parties living in the complex have been displaced by the fire. The Red Cross is assisting those families.
