John Wiley has announced his candidacy for the City of Lockport’s 5th Ward, declaring, “Becoming involved lends to having a voice which allows oneself and others to be heard.”
A longtime member of the community, Wiley is a DeSales Catholic High School graduate. He is currently employed at Buffalo Center Rehabilitation and Nursing as a Medicaid Coordinator, but is also on the board of Lockport’s Human Relations Committee; a board member for ‘Lockport New Beginnings,’ and is an Optimist Club member.
Mayor Michelle Roman was amongst the first to endorse Wiley’s campaign. Addressing his announcement on Facebook, Roman said, “Thanks for stepping up and running for something. Jon would be a great advocate for our ward and our city. So glad to see more people run for public office to help our community move forward in a positive direction.”
