Elementary Students Make Valentines’ Day Cards for Area Seniors

A total of ten elementary schools, working with Assemblyman Mike Norris, produced valentines’ cards for area seniors this week.  Through their hard work, over 2,500 cards were made, which will find their way to nursing homes and meals on wheels programs throughout the area.

“Thank you to all of the students, teachers and parents that participated in my Valentines for Seniors drive, which will be distributed to nursing homes and the meals on wheels program throughout my district. Your support and concern will bring so much needed cheer to our beloved seniors during this time,” said Norris in a Facebook broadcast.

Sampling some of the work, he shared a writing from one student: “Roses are red, violets are blue, you make the world better by just being you.”

The following schools participated in the program: Barker Central School District, Charles Upson Elementary, George Southard Elementary, DeSales Catholic School, Newfane Elementary, Oak Orchard Elementary, Roy Hart Elementary, Roy B Kelley Elementary, Sheridan Hill Elementary School and St. John the Baptist School.
