Hartland Garage Destroyed by Flames, Cause Team Investigates

Hartland, NY – On January 23th, 2021 at 13:13 Hours, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a 911 call reporting a garage fire at the residence located at 2953 Carmen Road in the Town of Hartland. Niagara County Sheriff’s Deputies and Officers of the Middleport Village Police Department responded and confirmed a large 40 x 50 foot detached garage of wooden construction was engulfed in flames. It was reported that the structure housed multiple motor vehicles and contained a number of propane tanks. The fire was subsequently extinguished by members of the Middleport, Hartland, Barker, Shelby and Ridgeway Volunteer Fire Companies. A resident who suffered a minor head injury during the incident was attended to at the scene by the Tri-Town Ambulance Company. The building and contents were considered a complete loss. An investigation into the cause of the fire by the Niagara County Origin and Cause Team is underway. |
