Falls man charged with reckless driving after extended pursuit

NIAGARA – Sheriff Michael Filicetti announced the arrest of 47 year old Michael Quarcini Jr. of Niagara Falls today, after a vehicle pursuit through several  jurisdictions.

On January 10, 2021, Niagara County Deputy A. Hall attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a vehicle in which had failed to yield to NYSP Troopers twice earlier in the evening. Quarcini led patrols through The Town of Niagara, Grand Island and The City of Niagara Falls during the pursuit. Quarcini was taken into custody in the 1800 block of Pierce Avenue in The City of Niagara Falls, after his vehicle became disabled.

Quarcini was charged with Unlawful Fleeing of a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle-3rd and Reckless Driving, as well as, several other vehicle and traffic charges. He also had an active warrant out of The City of Tonawanda Police. The passenger, 31 year old  Heather Moody of Niagara Falls was also taken into custody on two warrants.

Moody was transported to The City of Niagara Falls Police where she was held on her warrants. Quarcini was remanded to the Niagara County Jail pending his arraignment.
