Transit Drive-In starts new year with Make-A-Wish fundraising event

Hundreds of visitors stopped by Lockport’s Transit Drive-In on New Year’s Eve, with each $50 admission fee heading directly to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The donations help provide critically ill children with a chance to experience one wish which may have otherwise been unobtainable.

“Any normal year, we would be closed right now.  It’s our way to give back,” said Rick Cohen, owner at Transit Drive-In.  Cohen has owned his business since the 1980’s, passed down from his father, Irving Cohen, who purchased the establishment in 1957.

Considering himself fortunate, he added, “We’re very privileged that we are permitted to be open and provide a safe environment for people to come and enjoy themselves.”
