‘Shop with a Cop’ at Walmart in Albion Keeps Local Law Enforcement Busy Helping their Community

‘Shop with a Cop’ hit Walmart aisles in Albion on Saturday, with members of the Orleans County Sheriff’s Department tagging along to help families provide their children gifts on Christmas.

“It was a privilege to participate in the Shop with a Cop event at the Albion Walmart. I was partnered with Chief Jeff Gifaldi and a young boy named Aiden and it was fun to watch their interaction as well as the excitement the boy had shopping for his parents and siblings,” said Randy LeBaron, an Orleans County Sheriff’s Chaplin who participated in the charity event.

LeBaron added, “Thanks to the deputies and staff at Walmart, these children and their families were able to experience generosity and kindness at a time when it seems like the supply is short, but the need is great. It was an awesome day!”

In addition, Albion’s Walmart posted a statement reflecting over the successful, but logistically challenging, ‘Shop with a Cop’ toy drive in 2020:

“This year, with the many obstacles we have had, we were able to help 10 local families and bring a little bit extra to their homes this holiday season. Everyone involved, including law enforcement, families, and Walmart Associates had a great time with the event, and we are already working and looking forward to the next one.”
