Wheatfield, NY – On 12/04/20 at 0120 hours Niagara County Dispatch received a 911 phone call from a resident on Mapleton Road reporting a larceny in progress at their neighbor’s residence. Responding patrol units arrived on scene and located a vehicle which was parked on the side of Mapleton Road. That vehicle attempted to leave the scene once patrol arrived. The deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle and it failed to comply. A vehicle pursuit ensued through the Towns of Wheatfield, Cambria, Lockport and the City of Lockport.
The vehicle ended up crashing on Niagara Street in the City of Lockport. Immediate first aid was given to the Driver of that vehicle, Robert Lansberry, from the Town of Niagara. Lansberry ended up being transported by Mercy Flight to E.C.M.C. for treatment. While the accident scene was being investigated and initial investigation into the larcenies in the Town of Wheatfield, a second 911 call came into dispatch stating a seperate male was again attempting to steal a vehicle from Mapleton Road. Patrol units were already close by and were able to detain Brandon Lazeration who resides from the Town of Cambria. Lazeration was charged with 2 counts of Auto Stripping in the second degree, 2 counts of Criminal Mischief in the second degree and 2 counts of attempted Grand Larceny in the 3rd Degree. He is being held at the Niagara County Jail awaiting centralized arraignment. Charges are pending for Robert Lansberry as this investigation is ongoing. |
