Lockport Police Department Gives Incident Analysis, Highlights 11 Significant Events during October

In a monthly analysis of crimes within the City of Lockport, the LPD released a CompStat review of significant events throughout the month of October.

Significant Event (1): SHOOTING

Date: 10/6/2020 @ 232 HRS

Details: Units responded to 236 N Transit Street for a report of shots fired with a possible victim.  A male who resided in the upper apartment was struck under the eye with a round.  The male responded to ENH Lockport for treatment.  The incident is being investigated by the detective division.


Significant Event (2): OVERDOSE

Date: 10/13/2020 @ 0238 HRS

Details: Units responded to 42 John Street for an overdose.  A 33-year-old male was located unresponsive in the residence.  Narcan was administered and the make became responsive.  Twin City responded and treated the male.


Significant Event (3): OVERDOSE

Date: 10/15/2020 @ 2158 HRS

Details: Units responded (again) to 42 John Street for an overdose.  A 33-year-old male was located unresponsive in the residence.  Narcan was administered and the male became responsive.  Twin City responded and transported the male to ENH Lockport for treatment.


Significant Event (4): HOMOCIDE/SHOTS FIRED

Date: 10/17/2020 @ 0020 HRS

Details: Units responded to 43 South Niagara Street for a report of shots fired with a possible victim.  A total of 6 individuals were shot and one 20-year-old female succumbed to her injuries.  The shots entered a closed garage door.  Several individuals were inside the garage engaged in a Halloween party.  Two juvenile males were subsequently arrested for the homicide.  Further charges may be filed as the investigation continues.


Significant Event (5): SHOTS FIRED

Date: 10/19/2020 @ 1057 HRS

Details: Units responded to Erie Street and Walnut Street for a report of shots fired.  It was discovered that vehicle was chasing another vehicle and shot as it passed by.  Damage to nearby residences were discovered.  There were no parties struck by the gunfire.  The incident is being investigated by the detective division.


Significant Event (6): ROBBERY

Date: 10/19/2020 @ 0730 HRS

Details: Units responded to Franks Deli at 414 West Avenue for a robbery.  One male entered the store and pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded money while another male stole property.  The two individuals fled on foot towards Ohio Street.  The individuals were described as noticeably young males and suspected to be juveniles.  The detective division is investigating the incident.


Significant Event (7): OVERDOSE

Date: 10/21/2020 @ 2140 HRS

Details: Units responded to a residence on Genesee Street for an overdose.  A 39-year-old female was located inside the residence.  Twin City responded and the female was transported to ENH Lockport for treatment.


Significant Event (8): OVERDOSE

Date: 10/22/2020 @ 2110 HRS

Details: Units responded to 77 Main Street for a report of an overdose.  A 52-year-old male was located within the residence and breathing.  It was discovered the male ingested heroin.  Twin City responded and transported the male to ENH Lockport for treatment.


Significant Event (9): MENTAL HEALTH

Date: 10/23/2020 @ 1316 HRS

Details: Units responded to the area of Market Street and Main Street for a female carrying a rifle.  The female was ordered to drop the rifle and she complied.  The female was determined to be suffering from a mental health episode.  The rifle was seized, and the female was transported to the hospital for treatment.


Significant Event (10): OVERDOSE

Date: 10/25/2020 @ 0243 HRS

Details: Units responded to 188 South Street for an overdose.  A 69-year-old male was located inside the residence unresponsive.  Twin City responded and transported the male to ENH Lockport for treatment.  A white powder substance was located near the male and was seized as evidence. 


Significant Event (11): OVERDOSE

Date: 10/29/2020 @ 0543 HRS

Details: Units responded to 87 Ransom Street for an overdose.  A 37-year-old male was located at the residence unresponsive.  Narcan was administered and the male became responsive.  Twin City responded and transported the male to ENH Lockport for treatment.

Additionally, the CompStat reported a total of 26 confirmed shootings in the City of Lockport since April.  The suspected firearms used in these shootings include: .45, 9mm, 40 cal, 20 gauge, 7mm and .22.
