LOCKPORT – Scouting For Food, a bi-yearly program aimed at collecting and distributing food to local pantries, is preparing for their November collection at the Emmanuel United Methodist Church on Saturday. Located at the corner of Washburn and Chestnut Streets, the event is scheduled to run from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
In the past, Scouts have distributed door tags on a Saturday, returning a week later to pick up donations. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a drive-in model has been adopted for added precaution.
Area residents are urged to bring donations of non-perishable food items like pasta, canned goods, sauces, vegetables, canned fruit, etc. This will aid in supplementing food pantries with extra donations in both Orleans and Niagara Counties.
This event will be hosted by Cub Scout Pack 6 and BSA Troop 6.
