Suspected Shooter Flees Scene in City of Lockport, Investigation Ongoing

Lockport’s Police Department closed off roadways near Walnut and Erie Street on Monday morning, all related to a shooting investigation involving two occupied vehicles.

Parent’s of students within the Lockport School District were quick to receive a notification on the situation, as the location of the shooting was within a short enough distance that the school was prompted into action.

According to Captain Anthony Palumbo, the driver suspected to have fired a weapon fled the scene quickly thereafter, while the targeted occupant remained on location.  The crime scene was quickly shutdown so investigators could conduct interviews and collect evidence. Additionally, Lockport Police Chief Steven Abbott reported no injuries from the day’s shooting which took place in a residential neighborhood.

This investigation is ongoing.
