Scrooge the Musical Set for Return to Palace Stage in Lockport this December, Will be Filmed for Release

The Historic Lockport Palace Theatre is set to reopen this Christmas season, according to a release placed online earlier this week:

“Scrooge the Musical will be returning to the Palace stage for the 17th year, this December!  Telling the story of Charles Dickens’ classic tale “A Christmas Carol. This well-known tale is given new life with exciting music, dancing, and a story that the whole family will love.

“Scrooge the Musical has been a part of the Curtain Up season since 2003 and has truly become a staple for many in the surrounding community. So, join us this December and enjoy Lockport’s Christmas tradition!”

The annual production in Lockport is known for its ability to draw large swaths of the community, young and old, to try something new and see what character they fit best in this classic holiday production.

According to Palace Director Chris Parada, the musical will be filmed for consumption, so no live audience can attend. Whether that opportunity for vast participation from the community will still exist under state guidelines in December is still unknown, but something conforming to a more socially distanced experience is expected for the cast and crew.
