The Palace Theatre is collecting new and used Christmas lights and decorations that residents wish to part with. These include: Lights (LED & incandescent), garland bows, trees, lawn decorations, ornaments and wreaths. These items will all be reallocated to residents who want to be festive, but may not have the extra money to spend during these uncertain times.
You can drop these items off under the theatre’s marquee on Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Beginning on November 1st, community members in need of decorations, most importantly lights, will be able to “shop” for free, picking and choosing the items they need to illuminate their home this holiday season.
Additionally, there will be a contest come December to judge which resident has created the most engaging Christmas spectacle in each of Lockport’s five wards.
The registration deadline to participate is December 1st. The lights and home decorating are to be fully completed by December 5th. The official declaration of best decorated homes in the City of Lockport will take place on December 19th.
