Lockport City Fire Department Accepts Six Figure Federal Grant

Patrick Brady, Chief of Lockport’s City Fire Department, carried out a Common Council resolution at Tuesday evening’s Fire Board Meeting, accepting an ‘Assistance to Firefighters Grant’ in the sum of $116,115.  According to Brady, the funding is earmarked for three new defibrillator monitors.

The ‘Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program’ was initiated in 2001.  Since then, the program has aided varying municipalities around the country in paying for protective gear, emergency vehicles, training, and other resources necessary for protecting the public and emergency personnel from fire and related hazards.
