LOCKPORT – ConnectLife held their monthly blood drive hosted by Cornerstone (CFCU) Arena on Market Street Thursday afternoon. Usually, there is a larger campaign aligned with the Buffalo Bills for the month of September, but due to varying cancellations and restrictions on the usual arenas used, that was pushed aside for 2020. Regardless, the Buffalo Bills have continued their usual September sponsorship of ConnectLife’s blood drives.
Maria Cabin, Mobile Blood Drive Supervisor for ConnectLife, explained, “This is also a promotion for the month of September connected with the Buffalo Bills. So, a lot of times in September we do a Buffalo Bills blood drive.” She added, “That ended with everything going on, but they’re still sponsoring our other drives throughout the month.”
ConnectLife is a local blood bank supplying donations to the eight counties of Western New York. They currently operate out of Cornerstone CFCU Arena in Lockport every first Thursday of the month. Cabin explained that this may be subject to change as fall progresses and the arena takes on a heavier schedule.
