At approximately 3:30 p.m. in the City of Lockport, a vehicle traveling on Waterman Street began accelerating speed as it approached the High Street intersection. Upon reaching High Street, the vehicle (a Ford SUV) veered left off the road, crashing through a residential fence while narrowly missing the property’s home.
After passing through the back lawn, the vehicle made contact with another portion of fence, passing through and punching a hole into a neighboring brick home.
According to reports on scene, the driver was an older male who may have been experiencing a medical condition causing him to lose control of his vehicle. Apart from the driver, no other injuries were reported.
The driver was pulled out by an onlooking neighbor attempting to render aid. Soon thereafter, he was taken to hospital by ambulance in serious to critical condition.
