Lockport, NY, August 22nd, 2020– There is a lot happening at the Lockport Community Farmers Market! Held every Saturday at the Lockview Plaza parking lot we offer 5 local farms featuring locally grown fruits and vegetables, local food producers offering homemade jams, breads, and spices, Wilson grown pork and pasture raised chicken eggs, and crafters providing a selection of crafts ranging from wood creations to prints of our historical Lockport.
The market offers patrons the convenience to use their EBT benefits at the market and Double Up Food Bucks which is a program that matches your EBT benefits up to $20. Certain vendors accept Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) Checks and Fresh Connect Checks. All vendors accept CASH as well as market tokens for those who like to use their credit and debit card.
We are excited to become a drop off site for the PB&J Drive. A donation bin will be present at the market accepting peanut butter (crunchy or smooth), jelly (of any flavor), and fluff. Each jar is collected, checked for an expiration date, then distributed to local food pantries throughout Orleans, Niagara and Erie county. Now more than ever donations are needed. Gretchen Bruning, a volunteer of the PB&J Drive, will be joining us at this market to accept donations as well as answer any questions about the donation drive.
The vendor line up for this Saturday, August 22nd is as follows: Grenzy Farms, Local Roots, Inside the Lines Studios, Boho Chic Designs, Different Woods, Gormley Farms, Kissed by the Sun Spice Company, Nice’s Honey Dew Acres, Herbalty Cottage, Stone Hollow Farms, and Human Farms.
