Multiple Gunshots Fired Near St. Mary’s Church in Medina, Two Cars Damaged with No Injuries

A press release from the Village of Medina Police Department:

“On August 14, 2020, around 11:30 P.M., Medina Police Officer Mark Prawel called out shots fired in the 300 block of West Ave.  There was a large gathering of people at a house party in that block this night.  Preliminary investigation indicates that a verbal argument ensued between people at the party carrying over into St. Mary’s church parking lot. 

“It has been reported that a black male discharged the handgun into the air numerous times.  At least two (2) vehicles, that were associated with the gathering, were struck by bullets.

“At this time there are no reports of anyone being injured as a result of this incident.  Numerous shell casings and mangled bullets have been recovered from the scene.

“The Medina Police Department is continuing its investigation into the incident.  The Medina Police Department received assistance from the Orleans County Sheriff’s Department and the New York State Police.”
