Niagara County Corrections Employee Facing Two Charges After DUI Arrest

INFORMATION: LOCKPORT, NY – Acting Sheriff Michael J. Filicetti announces the arrest of Corrections Officer, Daniel Stevens, age 30, on charges of Driving While Intoxicated and Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident following a report of a reckless driver on Lower Mountain Rd in the Town of Cambria.

Further investigation revealed that Stevens struck a mailbox on Lower Mountain Rd prior to being stopped by patrol. Stevens, of Niagara Falls, joined the Sheriff’s Office in August 2017. He was off-duty at the time of the accident. Stevens was released on an appearance ticket and directed to appear in the Town of Cambria Court on October 5, 2020 to answer the charges.

Stevens has been suspended pending a departmental investigation and hearing. Due to the ongoing investigation and pending departmental charges, no further information will be released at this time.
