18th Century Russian Replica Pushes Down Erie Canal, Vessel Destined for Alaska

A Russian boat named “Pilgrim” pushed through Orleans and Niagara Counties yesterday. According to Rochester reporter John Kucko, the vessel has already amassed 11,000 nautical miles in approximately two years.

The small group of sailors, (with only one on deck at the time of these photos), will push towards Minnesota and eventually Alaska. Kucko reported the crew still plans on being in the water for about another year as their journey continues.
