Intoxicated Driving in Cambria Leads to Arrest with Stolen Weapons Charge

DATE/TIME: 8/5/2020 at 2328 hours
INFORMATION: Cambria, NY- On August 5th, 2020, at 2328 hours, The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a motorcycle being driven erratically in the area of Lockport Rd/Ward Rd. Several Deputies responded to the area and Deputy Hohl was able to locate and engage in a traffic stop with the motorcycle. The operator, Thomas M. Hyde, 27, was found to be in possession of a loaded 9mm S&W handgun which was reported stolen out of Knoxville, TN. While Hyde was being interviewed by Deputies, it was determined that he was intoxicated. Hyde was subsequently charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree (C Felony), Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th Degree (E Felony), Driving While Intoxicated, and several other Vehicle and Traffic Law charges. Hyde was processed and held for Centralized Arraignment at The Niagara County Jail.
