Editor’s Note: This is an update by the Middleport Village Board on state mandated closings impacting garage sales. This close date was initially set until June 15. Now, the board is hopeful for a June 2 reopening, which will be pending an okay from Albany next week.
“UPDATE 5/26/2020 3:45 pm – We contacted the committee that is overseeing Reopen western New York, and this is their response:
“Garage sales were discussed during the Regional Control Room call over the weekend and the response from the State is that they are not allowed yet. They are seen as similar to retail shops (which open in Phase 2), in that there could potentially be multiple people all too close together, browsing & shopping. This is the Governor’s decision, not yours or ours.
The good news is that we are on track for Phase 2 to hopefully start next Tuesday, if all goes well.”
