“The Governor wants us to know you need to answer the phone if you get that call,” Becky Wydysh, Niagara County Chairman, relayed to the public earlier today on receiving a call from a contact tracer.
She elaborated on the process, saying, “That is the State Contact Tracing Team calling to let you know that you have been in contact with someone who has tested positive.”
Wydysh provided Niagara County Public Health Director Dan Stapleton with the floor, revealing more on what qualifies area residents for a notification. “This is not about people you passed in a Walmart or on a hiking trail,” Stapleton explained.
Lastly, he noted, “It’s something we’ve been doing for decades in public health.”
