WYDYSH SOUNDS OFF IN HONOR OF NIAGARA COUNTY EMS WORKERS

Before delivering information on the usual business we’ve grown accustomed to in Niagara County updates, Chairman Becky Wydysh honored EMS workers, and the day dedicated to their hard work and sacrifice.

“I would like to start with some very important recognition, given the times that we are currently living in, certainly.”  Wydysh had said, adding, “May 17 – May 23 is the 46th Annual National EMS Week, and specifically, today is EMS recognition day.”

She continued, “I think we realize how important these individuals are in our community at any given time, but certainly during something like we are going through right now.”

Wydysh listed off the multiple Emergency Medical Service agencies who respond to Niagara County residents most dire situations:

  • 12 Volunteer Basic Life Support Non-Transporting Fire Agencies
  • 2 Career Basic Life Support Non-Transporting Fire Agencies
  • 16 Volunteer Advanced Life Support Transporting Fire Agencies
  • 2 Volunteer Advanced Transporting Life Supporting EMS Agencies
  • 2 Career Life Support Non-Transporting Fire Agencies

Wydysh noted that “just three are paid agencies the rest are committed volunteers in Niagara County.”
