Niagara County EMS parades throughout Middleport giving the homebound hope

Emergency service vehicles from eastern Niagara County gathered today, platforming a parade of solidarity during these tough times, which traveled through the streets of Middleport, Gasport and Hartland entertaining a spaced out and mostly homebound audience.

Sara Burgess, 2nd Assistant Chief for the Middleport Fire Department, organized the event, stating, “everyone has been down about this crisis” and “I really just wanted to brighten people’s day up and do something for the community.”

Regan Ginty, Fire Captain and EMT for the Middleport Fire Department, addressed safety precautions, “This is an event where you can stay away from each other,” as the few who attended the parades launch from Main Street in Middleport were well-spaced or seated in their vehicles.

It appears many people were notified of the parades route on social media and opted to view from their front yards or windows.

  1. We absolutely loved it. Exactly what our community needed. My kids and all the neighborhood kids had smiles. Thank you for your hard work. Stay safe.
