Niagara County Chairman shares information on increasing COVID cases, gives updated ‘heat map’

Chairman of the Niagara County Legislature, Becky Wydysh, held her daily briefing on LCTV at 2 p.m., updating the public on active COVID-19 cases.

She stated, “The Governor told us earlier this morning that in New York State there are now 75,800 positive COVID cases with 1,550 deaths.  Here in Niagara County we do have 5 more positive cases as of today, which does bring our positive case total to 56.  With 40 people in home isolation, 9 are hospitalized and we now have 7 people who have recovered and are at home doing well, which is very good news.”

The Chairman also shared in the Governor’s hopes for quick advances in home testing to get things back on track.

“It is his (Gov. Cuomo) belief to bring this to the end and get people back to work, what we really need is the development of a home test,” she said, adding, “That way we would know people are testing negative and could get them back into the workforce safely.”
